Orphan and Vulnerable Children Support Officer (OSO)

‘M’e ‘Mampaka is the mother of two and cares for an extra orphan. She was born and raised in Hlotse. ‘M’e holds a BA (Adult Education) and has worked for the past 14 years as Regional Director for a national NGO, Lesotho Preschool and Day Care Association (LPDCA), coordinating preschools teachers in the northern districts of Leribe and Butha-Buthe. She has also worked with the communities in these districts on the importance of Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Education. ‘M’e ‘Mampaka has extensive experience in partnership projects with carious NGOs in areas of HIV/AIDS and voter education campaigns and meetings. ‘M’e joined TL as OSO in December 2007 and heads up OVC (orphaned and vulnerable children) Support and Education and School Projects. Programming areas include Child Sponsorship, Education Fund, Bytown Orphanage Sponsorship, and Orphan Relief Fund. The needs of the OVC are addressed on multiple levels including psycho-social support, formal and non-formal education and supplying basic provisions including food and clothing.
